THE VICUNA

  • The most precious wool in the world is the vicuña, takes its name from the animal that has the same name that lives in nature at 4000 meters on the Andes, is part of the family of camelids and is about one meter tall.
From the mantle of the vicuña the precious fiber is obtained in small quantities to make this excellent type of wool, a thread has a diameter of 12 microns, thinner still than cashmere.
She is often employed in haute couture even though her story already wants her as "the fabric of the gods" already ten thousand years ago in the Inca people.
