The fundamental difference between a cuff for shirt and the other is the type of closure, which may be normal with button or with twins also called the French.
The double-cuff typically measure about 10/12 cm and is formed by a double slot for both sides which is then folded back on itself.
This type of wristband is very elegant and is worn with a tuxedo, tails or anyway on formal occasions, while less important are the individual cuffs for twins, also called a "mixed punch" that are identical to the normal (not folded) but they a double loop at the ends using the button, ideal for a sophisticated yet elegant look.
The normal cuffs are high of about 6/7 cm and may have different shapes at their end, the most common is rounded, while the more tailored version is called spinzata or blunt because it ends with a net diagonal cut.
Another type of cuff is placket with two slots and two buttons a little higher (8.9 cm) which should in theory be always coupled to the collar with two-button placket (highest).
Any cuff is chosen, however, need to follow a basic rule, the cuff must always protrude from the jacket of about one centimeter, otherwise all the effort that has resulted in our choice will be nullified.
